Looking to "think outside the box" when it comes to first person shooter games (i.e., Halo, Call of Duty, etc)? You might like what Borderlands has to offer. I rented this game a few weeks ago and was able to try it out and complete a few of the missions in the game (though I did not beat it yet). Anyways, Borderlands is a RPG/ First Person shooter (similar to Fall Out 3), that takes place on a barren land (which may remind you of the American Southwest given the desert feel that the game offers) in a post apocalytipic world sometime in the future, and you play one of 3 major characters in the game (I chose the girl just for kicks) and do missions for various folks in the game, shoot thugs and creatures that want to kill you, and plenty of other stuff. If walking around the barren land is too much, there are vehicles that you can get in the game loaded with machine guns and rocket launchers that you can use to get from one part of the land to another in a short period of time as well as minimializing encounters with thugs and creatures.
Things you might like in this game
- Awesome graphics - I though that the game developers did a good job on graphics
- Does have both a single player and a co-op mode. If single player mode is too hard for you, then you can team up with your buddies (either offline or on Xbox live) and work together playing through the different parts of the game.
- Comical feel, as if you are in a comic (the characters look cartoonish when you approach them)
- Good voice acting
- Huge world to explore (much of it is desert of course).
- Great for those of you who like RPGS
- Challenging game play.
