I actually recently got Mass Effect 2 for my brother as a birthday gift and though I did start a game on it, I have not finished Mass Effect 1 yet, and so I decided to take a break from Mass Effect 2 and play through the first game, and then go straight into the 2nd game. Mass Effect is created by the same company that made Star Wars Knights of the Republic, Dragon Age and Jade Empire (Bioware) and has some similar features (such as being able to choose what you say in conversations, going paragon or renagade, etc), with a more next generation feel to it (such as real time combat instead of turn based combat, Shepard speaking the dialogue you choose in the conversations, as well as a bigger universe to work in). In this game, you play as Commander Shepard, who is on a mission to stop a rogue specter named, Saren, who has a scheme to destroy the Alliance. You can get the full details about this game at www.gamefaqs.com or www.gamespot.com. In my game, I named my guy after OJ Simpson and have decided to make my guy go renegade (or become a villian in the game) just for fun. I will also go renegade the first time through on Mass Effect 2 the first time around as well.
Current progress: I am currently on the Noveria world, getting ready to fight the Matriarch, a high level Asari who is one of Saren's cronies (though she does have a daughter that aligns herself with Shepard's crew, which makes things a little interesting to say the least).

I actually first learned about Batman Arkham Asylum on the G3 channel, which comes with Comcast On Demand, and apparently, it was one of the top rated comic book based games out there (much more so than Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, which features the infamous Marvel Civil War, which you can read about on www.wikipedia.org by typing in the "marvel civil war" in the search box). Anyways, this game is quite interesting if you ask me. Batman Arkham Asylum starts with Joker getting arrested and Batman helping to escort him into Arkham Asylum (which is the prison that villians wind up in that get defeated by Batman). Of course, the arrest goes terribly wrong and the Joker manages to escape from Batman's grip, releases other villians locked up in the prison (including the notorious Scarecrow, who ends up being the first boss you fight in the game), and uses the prison system against Batman, and it is up to him to bring order into the prison, stop the Joker and get out of the Asylum alive.
Current progress: I recently beat the 2nd boss in the game and am currently doing the Arkham Mansion mission.
